Diapers don't stay around for long at our Diaper Bank. The diapers collected during diaper dirves are generally gone within a few weeks. Sometimes we think diapers have a shorter shelf life than milk.
Tiny infants go through as many as 10 diapers a day, so the tiny sizes don't stick around the warehouse for long. On the other hand, large sizes (5 and 6) are for toddlers who stay in one size for a longer time, meaning that more kids are in those larger sizes for a longer time. Finally, most folks don't think to donate adult sizes, but adult diapers make up a full 20% of the Diaper Bank's demand for diapers - both for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.
So please, when you do your shopping, make it a habit - pick up a package of diapers for those who can't afford them.
An infant uses 12 diapers a day
A toddler uses 8 diapers a day
A disabled adult uses 4-6 diapers a day
