Period Poverty Awareness Week shines a light on the widespread yet often overlooked issue of period poverty—the inability to afford essential menstrual products. This crisis affects millions and keeps people from school, work, and everyday life.
Nearly half the population menstruates, yet one in four people struggles to afford period supplies due to financial hardship. This is period poverty, and it’s closer to home than many realize. It affects students, coworkers, friends, and neighbors.
No student should have to miss school. No adult should have to miss work. And no one should be held back from participating in daily life simply because they can’t afford basic hygiene products.
At the Arizona Diaper Bank, we believe access to period products is a matter of health, dignity, and equity. Through our Period Poverty Program, we distribute essential supplies to those who need them most. With your help, we are breaking down barriers and improving lives—one product, one person, and one community at a time.
